Want to get a sense of the world these creatures could be living in so i had ago at drawing some plants from a range of sources, Mainly google images... However i wanted the plant life to not be the same as it would be today. I had a think and thought that most basic life came from the sea so what 'if' this is the same for the plants. So i pushed towards plants that look like coral...
Then i thought about i could cross match those plants with each other so that the sea plant life and the land plant life look similar. The cactus like plant is fantastic works really well and could be used in some of the detail of the final images. From a tutorial it was suggested that i need to find a way of capturing that detail inside the cactus as i have here with a pencil. The vine type plants that surround the bottom of the main plants stand out as being a main focus as a filler to create more depth to my illustrations. I hope to use these further...
